The Plaza Hotel & Casino will honor the heroes of Southern Nevada with its weekly Welcome to the Weekend Friday Fireworks Show in the month of August.
“We like to have special guests ignite our summer fireworks shows that light up the sky and entertain crowds downtown and beyond,” said Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “Last month, we welcomed local sports teams, and this August, we wanted to use this unique opportunity to spotlight the heroes of our community – the people who dedicate their lives to serving as police officers, firefighters, healthcare professionals, and educators. They are the backbone of our community, and we appreciate all they do.”
The first guests of honor to ignite the fireworks from the TNT box at Carousel Bar at 9:15 p.m. tomorrow night, Friday, Aug. 1, will be members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
On Friday, Aug. 8, the TNT ignitors will be emergency medical personnel of Community Ambulance, the locally owned and operated ambulance company that served Southern Nevada’s for more than 10 years.
On Friday, Aug. 15, members of the Clark County Fire Department will be at Carousel Bar to ignite the fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
On Friday, Aug. 22, the ten recipients of the Clark County School District’s 2025 Starlight Awards that recognize exceptional educators and staff members will come together to ignite the fireworks.
The public can celebrate these community heroes with cocktails at Carousel Bar and a DJ will be providing entertainment starting at 7 p.m.
Staged from the top of the Plaza’s South Tower every Friday at 9:15 p.m. from May through September, the public can watch the Welcome to the Weekend Friday Fireworks Show for free from in front of the Plaza on Main Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic during the show for viewing the fireworks from Carson Avenue to Ogden Avenue.
The Plaza’s fireworks will be dependent on weather conditions and are subject to change or cancellation. Updates will be available on the Plaza’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
