Crypto Exchange Kraken Said to Hire Natasha Powell as UK Head of Compliance

Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange, has appointed Natasha Powell as its new head of compliance for the U.K., according to two sources familiar with the decision. Powell is set to begin her role in November, the sources said, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the private nature of the information.

In an emailed statement, a Kraken spokesperson commented, “We continuously seek new opportunities to strengthen our team with experienced industry professionals.” Powell did not respond to requests for comment.

Before joining Kraken, Powell served as the chief compliance officer at crypto payments company BCB Group. Her career began at the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and she has also held compliance roles at RBS and Barclays Capital, according to her LinkedIn profile.
