Voodoo is proud to announce the next exciting update as part of our ongoing collaboration with Hasbro, a leading toy and game company. In conjunction with the highly anticipated release of TRANSFORMERS ONE, the latest animated feature film from Hasbro and Paramount Pictures, we are thrilled to introduce Megatron, the iconic Decepticon leader, as the newest Champion in Mob Control.
TRANSFORMERS ONE, hitting theaters on September 20th, 2024, is an origin story that explores the early relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. The story showcases how these two legendary characters went from brothers-in-arms to archenemies, forever altering the fate of their home planet, Cybertron. Directed by Josh Cooley, the film features an ensemble voice cast including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. The film marks the franchise’s first theatrical animated feature since THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE in 1986 and promises to be a pivotal moment in the TRANSFORMERS universe.
In the Mob Control world, Megatron’s arrival continues this saga, and players will get to experience the power and complexity of this iconic character firsthand. Following the successful integration of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, Megatron joins Mob Control as the third TRANSFORMERS Champion. Megatron’s introduction gives players the opportunity to explore the darker side of the TRANSFORMERS story, as they now get to fight on the Decepticons’ side with Megatron in their loadout, offering a fresh perspective and dynamic Battle experiences.
In his robot form, Megatron wields his Energon Mace, delivering devastating melee attacks as he fights enemies in Battle. Players can also tap on Megatron at any moment during Battle to convert him into his Siege Tank mode and back. In the Siege Tank mode, Megatron can unleash powerful ranged attacks on the nearest enemy Towers. The ability to switch between robot and Siege Tank forms will provide players with unprecedented control and tactical options during Battles.
Starting today, players can discover Megatron in the Armory and start collecting the Blueprints they need to unlock the Champion by completing missions in the TRANSFORMERS Season and battling it out in an exclusive story mode event, Echoes from Cybertron.
The new episode of Echoes from Cybertron – Rise of Megatron, features seven challenging new levels, each more difficult than the last, ending in a three-round boss battle that will test even the most seasoned players (we’re looking at you, God Tier Mobsters).
Players need to collect Energon, the in-game currency, to unlock and play these levels. Players who haven’t yet unlocked Megatron can st ill experience his might, as he will be automatically equipped as the Champion in their loadout when they play the Echoes from Cybertron event. Completing all levels in this episode grants players a one-time reward of some Blueprints for Megatron and the ability to influence the storyline’s direction in future episodes, adding an interactive and engaging element to the experience.
In addition to the new content, this update continues to spice up competition with the TRANSFORMERS League, an exclusive leaderboard that tracks player progress as they complete and replay levels within the Echoes from Cybertron event. Players can climb the ranks by completing and replaying levels, with points awarded based on scores. The leaderboard resets every two weeks, keeping the competition fierce and rewarding those who master the challenges of higher tiers.
Players can still enjoy older episodes alongside this latest release, with more TRANSFORMERS content set to arrive later this year. The TRANSFORMERS Season Pass, which provides exclusive access to additional rewards and content, will also be available starting September 18th, with early access beginning on September 16th.
