Ecuador’s data protection agency, the Superintendence of Data Protection, has announced that it currently lacks the resources necessary to evaluate Worldcoin’s compliance with the country’s laws. Fabrizio Peralta-Diaz, the head of the agency, expressed concern over this issue, emphasizing the need for appropriate tools to properly assess the company’s status, especially given that the agency was established only three months ago.
In a recent interview with local media, Peralta-Diaz remarked that individual effort alone was insufficient for such an undertaking.
He highlighted the need for “infrastructure, employees, and technical reports” to form a basis for any potential sanctions.
