Bybit, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, recently hosted an engaging livestream titled “The Web3 WAGMI Race: Who’s Gonna Make It?” in collaboration with the Blockchain for Good Alliance. This event featured speakers from Animoca Brands, Solana Foundation, Aptos, Sei, Taiko, and ConscienceLAND, who formed three teams to debate the future of Web3 technology.
Team DeFi: Jonah Lau from Animoca Brands and Andrea Baglioni from Solana Foundation highlighted the mainstream potential of games, meme coins, and NFTs. They argued that these elements drive community and cultural movements in the crypto space. Additionally, they discussed DeFi’s promise in creating a global, unrestricted financial system capable of addressing issues such as climate change and global remittances.
Team Real-World: Philip McMaster from ConscienceLAND and Grover from Sei focused on making blockchain accessible to the average person and tackling significant global issues. They emphasized the revolutionary potential of real-world assets (RWA) and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) in transforming digital economies and delivering tangible benefits.
Team Chains: Jerome Ong from Aptos and Joaquin Mendes Izard from Taiko discussed the integration of AI in the Web3 space. They envisioned a robust, scalable blockchain ecosystem that supports the next wave of Web3 applications and services.
Bybit also announced a significant milestone of reaching 10 million wallets, with comprehensive integration across over 30 blockchains and the successful launch of their DEX Pro trading product. Emily Bao, Bybit Web3 Evangelist, highlighted these achievements during the event.
