Cloud & Cybersecurity Experts Converge In Uganda

The East Africa Cloud and Cybersecurity Roadshow, which recently concluded its successful editions in Tanzania and Rwanda, has now arrived in Kampala, Uganda.

This significant event, dedicated to advancing the technological landscape of East Africa, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and cloud and cybersecurity professionals in Kampala. Held at the prestigious Four Points by Sheraton, the roadshow provided a comprehensive exploration of the dynamic realms of cloud computing and cybersecurity.

Organized for the first time in Uganda by dx5, a leading force in African technology, and powered by BUI East Africa, an information technology company, the roadshow featured a series of keynotes and sessions led by experts from across East Africa. Attendees gained deep insights into the latest tech trends and challenges shaping the industry.

During the event, Hasmukh Chudasama, General Manager for East & Southern Africa at BUI, delivered a keynote speech titled “You’ve Been Hacked. What Next? Your Breach Response Plan.” Chudasama outlined crucial actions organizations must take post-breach, including incident containment, investigation, and communication strategies, equipping attendees with essential knowledge to minimize damage and restore operations swiftly.

With cybercriminals increasingly utilizing sophisticated AI tools to launch attacks, a panel discussion explored strategies for organizations to leverage cloud-stored data effectively in detecting and neutralizing AI-powered cyber threats.

In another insightful session, Allan Lwala, Cybersecurity and Forensics Lead at Xylem Networks, delved into the evolving role of cybersecurity professionals, highlighting pressing industry issues, common mistakes, and challenges faced by the next generation of experts.

Following its success in Uganda, the roadshow is set to continue its journey, with Ethiopia as the next destination on May 30, 2024. Industry professionals and enthusiasts are encouraged to register via the provided link to participate in this transformative event.
