Gordon Moody has become Redditch United’s new official Charity Partner for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Gordon Moody is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by gambling addiction. The partnership comes on the heels of the opening of its new flagship residential treatment centre, Gordon Moody House, which opened in Redditch in November 2024. This state-of-the-art facility offers tailored residential programmes that blend cutting-edge therapies with holistic approaches, providing a safe space for recovery and rehabilitation for individuals struggling with severe gambling-related harms.

The charity recently appointed two former professional footballers in Dean Sturridge and John Hartson, as official ambassadors. Both are ex-Premier League footballers, listing Arsenal, West Ham, Celtic, Derby County, Leicester City & Wolverhampton Wanderers as previous Clubs and have both opened up about their gambling addictions, delving into the effects it had on their lives.

The partnership will see the charity have a presence within the Valley Stadium and adorn the back of the 2025/26 match shirts.

Redditch United Chairman, David Faulkner, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Gordon Moody as our official charity partner. Their dedication to addressing gambling-related harms aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting the well-being of our community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.“

Monica Shafaq, CEO of Gordon Moody, said: “This partnership with Redditch United is more than just branding—it’s about building a united front to tackle gambling-related harm head-on. With our flagship centre now open in the heart of the town, we’re deeply committed to supporting the local community. Football has the power to bring people together, and by working with Redditch United, we hope to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure that no one feels that they have to face addiction alone.”
