BetBlocker, provider of anonymous and free to use blocking software and gambling management tools, has today announced the launch of their award winning support in Arabic.
2025 has seen BetBlocker rapidly expand their support into a host of new languages, including Czech, Catalan, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Serbian and three Zambian dialects. This rapid effort to expand the availability of BetBlocker’s support has been motivated by the knowledge that uptake of blocking software support is significantly improved when the support is available in a language that the user is confident and comfortable with.
Over 5% of the world’s population speak Arabic as a first language. A figure that’s in line with English and places it joint 3rd in terms of the most spoken languages. This launch will expand BetBlocker’s support to over 400 million people.
Founder and Trustee for BetBlocker, Duncan Garvie, was keen to point out that: “With a few notable exceptions, BetBlocker’s language support has unintentionally focused on Indo-European languages. Translating has really helped BetBlocker expand it reach, as is evidenced by almost 300k active users supported this year.
But this focus has omitted support for some of the biggest communities in the world. The launch of our Arabic support is the start of what I hope to be a diversification of the communities that can access BetBlocker’s support.
We’re really excited about this launch and believe that this will help ensure increased numbers of people supported in 2026.
I’d like to offer our thanks to Malek Zitouni, who generously volunteered his time to support the translation of BetBlocker. We couldn’t reach so many vulnerable people without the generous folks who champion our work and contribute to our project.”
