Holiday Magic, Reimagined: AI Meets Christmas Brand Storytelling

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The weeks leading up to Christmas are always marked by rituals: twinkling lights on neighbourhood streets, skating on weekend rinks, and the rush for last-minute gifts. December carries a mix of nostalgia and local charm, a sense of togetherness that brings people closer. Increasingly, this seasonal spirit is also finding its way into digital experiences, as brands experiment with new ways to reflect the textures of the winter season through storytelling and AI creative tools.

This year, Tonybet — an international, licensed iGaming operator — has taken a different angle in its “Grandma’s Prize Fall” campaign, blending the warmth of a classic Christmas character with a fully AI-generated creative video. While AI has paved its way into all industries, using a fully automated pipeline to produce a narrative still remains unusual, especially in the iGaming sector where campaigns tend to lean on straightforward promotional formats.

A Holiday Story Unfolding Day by Day

The campaign features a Grandma accidentally burning the holiday turkey just as the guests arrive, trying to make up for it with surprises, portrayed as a series of prizes. Instead of a standard promo structure, Tonybet built a special universe where users complete 45 daily missions that lead toward a shared prize pool. Each mission deepens the storyline and serves as an entry into the final draw.

The daily missions echo the holidays’ experience — from advent calendars and community events to day-to-day family gatherings — where small, everyday rituals build up into a larger sense of anticipation before the big day. Across the entertainment sector, more brands experiment with this kind of story-driven approach rather than relying solely on one-off holiday advertisements.

Tonybet’s Head of Product, Kiryl Liudvikevich, describes the project as an opportunity to balance technical design and festive atmosphere:

“Building this 45-days, 45-missions experience was a great opportunity for our team to venture into uncharted territory. Christmas is something many people around the globe look forward to, and we wanted to bring that spirit into this campaign. The experience is crafted to be playful but, most importantly, accessible — each daily mission is quick and simple, so players could join in without stepping away from their holiday routines. With a special prize for everyone who completes at least 10 missions, the experience is designed to feel worthwhile for all players.”

The Technology Behind Tonybet’s Christmas Сharacter

Bringing the grandmother to life required more than creative storytelling, it demanded a weave of Christmas magic with technology. Using a single reference image of the Grandma, Tonybet trained a custom neural model capturing her every smile, warm glance and gesture, as if she just stepped out of a familiar Christmas memory.

AI learned every single twinkle in Grandma’s eyes, motion of her hands, the cozy environment surrounding her and just the right amount of comfort her character needed to portray. Static pixels turned into a living character with the help of AI tools and frameworks like (KLING 2.6, Nano Banana Pro, Seedance Pro, Seedream 4.5 and Topaz Labs’ Enhancer).

By blending AI and in-house scripts, the operator turned the standard months of production into just a few weeks of creative innovation, resulting in a sprinkle of true holiday wander — a fully fictional Christmas character that feels like home.

AI as The Future of Holiday Marketing ?

Winter storytelling carries a strong cultural resonance, and combining digital tools with close-to-home holiday themes creates an experience that feels both contemporary and rooted in tradition. Tonybet’s AI generated-promo reflects a growing trend in marketing and entertainment, where brands are using AI to give campaigns a distinctive look and detach from traditional production timelines.

Now, whether AI-assisted creativity will become a staple of holiday marketing remains unclear, but campaigns like Tonybet’s show how technology, storytelling, and seasonal rituals can intersect, turning a digital grandma into the centerpiece of a global Christmas campaign.
