Telefónica Tech has announced a groundbreaking agreement with Microsoft to deliver next-generation cybersecurity services to enterprises globally. This partnership was formalized at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, California.
Enhancing Cybersecurity with Advanced Technology
The collaboration will combine Microsoft’s advanced security and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions with Telefónica Tech’s extensive operational cybersecurity expertise. This integration aims to provide customers with proactive, automated, and real-time security management.
Expanded Cybersecurity Portfolio
Telefónica Tech will enhance its existing cybersecurity services, including Detection & Response, Identity Access Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Data Protection. By integrating Microsoft’s cybersecurity capabilities, such as the Microsoft Copilot for Security tool, Telefónica Tech aims to improve incident response capabilities and optimize security processes. This 24/7 protection will be managed by specialized teams at Telefónica Tech’s Digital Operations Centers (DOC) in Madrid and Bogota, Colombia, who hold top certifications in Microsoft technology.
Leadership Comments
María Jesús Almazor, COO of Telefónica Tech for Spain and the Americas, stated, “This global cooperation between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft is a key milestone. Companies worldwide will benefit from the opportunities technology offers to digitize processes and jobs, including tools based on generative artificial intelligence, with maximum security.”
Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft Spain, added, “The collaboration between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft will enable us to offer our customers innovative security solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence, enhancing their cyber-resilience.”
Industry Recognition and Expertise
Telefónica Tech is a leading managed security services provider (MSSP), ranked 2nd on MSSP Alert’s Top 250 Global MSSP list in 2023. The company provides organizations access to highly qualified cybersecurity experts, eliminating the need for internal technology investments. Telefónica Tech was named Microsoft’s Partner of the Year in Spain in 2023 and has achieved the highest partnership level in all designations, including security and Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP). In 2024, Telefónica Tech added specializations in Cloud Security and Threat Protection, further enhancing its technical capabilities.
Commitment to Responsible AI
This new agreement builds on the long-term collaboration between the two companies. In February, Microsoft launched its Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain, with Telefónica Tech and 15 other technology partners. The center promotes the adoption and secure use of artificial intelligence, offering training sessions and developing innovative AI use cases and safe application guidelines.
This partnership underscores Telefónica Tech’s and Microsoft’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and expertise to provide robust, comprehensive cybersecurity solutions globally, ensuring businesses can navigate the digital landscape securely and efficiently.
