At HIPTHER, we’re more than an event organizer — we’re a community of innovators, professionals, and changemakers who thrive on respectful collaboration, bold ideas, and shared passion.
To ensure that every attendee, speaker, sponsor, exhibitor, and staff member has a positive, safe, and inclusive experience at our events (whether in-person or virtual), we require adherence to the following Code of Conduct.
1. Respect is Not Optional
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, political beliefs, or professional background.
This means:
-
Listen actively and engage constructively.
-
Debate ideas, not individuals.
-
Treat others how you’d want your team treated at their first event.
2. Zero Tolerance for Harassment or Discrimination
HIPTHER does not tolerate:
-
Unwanted physical contact
-
Sexual advances, innuendo, or propositions (verbal or non-verbal)
-
Intimidation, stalking, or following
-
Offensive jokes, slurs, or comments — including about gender, race, religion, or orientation
-
Lewd gestures or suggestive body language
-
Inappropriate or non-consensual photography or recording
-
Retaliation against anyone who speaks up
Sexual harassment and physical misconduct will result in immediate removal and permanent banning. We don’t care who you are or how many panels you’ve been on.
3. Watch Your Language — and Your Vibe
While we love passion, we expect everyone to remain professional in tone and conduct. Excessive swearing, demeaning speech, yelling, or aggressive language — online or in person — is not acceptable.
If you wouldn’t say it in front of your most respected colleague or a global livestream, don’t say it here.
4. Safe Spaces Start With You
-
Do not use your identity or orientation to bypass appropriate boundaries.
-
Respect personal space, pronouns, and personal choices.
-
Speak up if you witness or experience something off. Silence enables bad behavior.
5. Alcohol & After-Hours Etiquette
Many of our events include social elements, including cocktails and networking. Even after the lights dim, this Code of Conduct still applies. “I had a few drinks” is not an excuse — it’s a warning sign.
6. Reporting a Concern
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct:
🔸 Speak to a HIPTHER team member immediately (clearly identified at every event)
🔸 Email us directly at: [email protected]
All reports will be handled confidentially and taken seriously. Retaliation against anyone who reports misconduct will not be tolerated.
7. Consequences of Violations
Depending on the severity of the violation, actions may include:
-
Verbal or written warning
-
Immediate removal from the event (without refund)
-
Permanent banning from all future HIPTHER events
-
Reporting to local authorities if necessary
Final Word
We built HIPTHER to connect minds, not to tolerate egos or predatory behavior. By attending our events, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help us build a safer, smarter, more respectful ecosystem for everyone involved.
Let’s keep it bold, inclusive, and brilliant. Together.
