NTT Data’s brand value rises 7%, reaffirms position as world’s fifth most valuable IT Services brand

Japanese IT services brands featured in the Global 500 2026 rankings, led by NTT DATA, recorded a 7% year-on-year growth compared to 2025, according to a new report from Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy. Together with Fujitsu (IT Services) and NEC (IT Services), the trio account for 10% of the world’s 25 most valuable IT services brand value, which reached USD167.2 billion in 2026.

NTT DATA (brand value up 7% to USD10.7 billion) retains its position as the fifth most valuable IT services brand globally for the second consecutive year. The brand’s revenue growth was underpinned by strong demand for AI-related workloads and services, continued investment in data centre infrastructure and cloud capabilities, and a strategy focused on global consolidation and targeted acquisitions.

Fujitsu (IT Services) (brand value down 2% to USD4 billion) slipped one place to 11th in the rankings, as the brand faced continued pressure in 2026 amid broader commercial headwinds and reputational challenges, particularly in the UK.

In contrast, NEC (IT Services) (brand value up 8% to USD1.5 billion) climbed one rank to 17th, despite the transfer of certain subsidiary businesses and weaker domestic IT revenues in some segments. This improvement was supported by strong operational performance and significant overall profit growth.

Alex Haigh, Managing Director Asia Pacific, Brand Finance commented:

“Japanese IT services brands demonstrate resilience in a highly competitive global market. NTT DATA’s sustained position among the world’s top five IT services brands reflects the growing importance of AI capability, cloud infrastructure, and global scale in driving brand value. While reputational and market-specific challenges have weighed on some players, the sector underscores how strategic investment, operational strength, and technological expertise are increasingly critical to maintaining relevance and trust in the IT services industry.
