Smart Axiata bolsters cybersecurity

Smart Axiata, headquartered in Cambodia, has partnered with cybersecurity firm SecurityGen to enhance its security measures amid the increasing adoption of connectivity in Southeast Asia.

As part of this collaboration, the Axiata-owned operator has introduced the Next Generation Signalling Firewall (NGSF) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) from SecurityGen. This development is hailed as a significant milestone in Smart Axiata’s ongoing efforts to protect its infrastructure and customer data.

The NGSF system offers comprehensive protection for both voice and data services, effectively thwarting hackers’ attempts to gain global access.

Ziad Shatara, CEO of Smart Axiata, commented, “This achievement not only underscores Smart’s unwavering commitment to digital security but also reinforces Cambodia’s reputation as a nation that prioritizes and invests in ensuring the safety of its citizens’ digital experiences.”

Amit Nath, CEO and co-founder of SecurityGen, echoed Shatara’s sentiments, stating, “Our collaboration with Smart represents a proud milestone as we embark on this pioneering initiative. We firmly believe that this endeavor sets a new industry benchmark for telecom security in the region.”
