Midnite has renewed its partnership with The Sun Dream Team, extending the sponsorship of The Sun’s fantasy football game into a second season, the company said on July 30 in London.

The Sun Dream Team, which launched in 1999, will run through the 2026/27 season with a £60,000 top prize. Players select footballers across the Premier League and cup and European competitions including the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League, and earn points based on real-world match actions such as goals, assists, clean sheets and 60+ minute appearances. Bonus points can also be awarded via Player Performance Marks determined by Sun journalists.

Andrew Mook, Midnite’s Head of Brand Marketing, said: “After a successful first season of the partnership, we are delighted to be a part of one of the UK’s most iconic fantasy football games for another season by extending our agreement with The Sun Dream Team.

“Fantasy football is such an important part of the football fan’s experience of the game throughout the season, providing additional excitement to games where punters are hoping their chosen player will score that all important goal or secure a valuable clean sheet. We want to be part of that experience and make it even better.

“This, on top of our recent announcements with Middlesbrough and Sheffield United, demonstrates our determination to give something back to the world of football and make sure we are bringing fans closer to the game.”

Owen Griffiths, The Sun’s Director of Commercial Revenues, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Midnite for a second season. The Sun Dream Team is the fantasy football destination for UK fans. Following a vintage World Cup, all eyes will be on the coming domestic season. And with a top prize of £60,000 to play for, Dream Team will be more competitive as ever.

“Midnite is fast becoming one of the more prominent names associated with football, and we very much look forward to working with the team for another season. Together, we can make the 2026/27 season one to remember for football fans, and we wish the best of luck to all players.”

Midnite positioned the renewal as part of a broader push in sports marketing, pointing to recent football and wider sports partnerships including sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship and a UK betting and casino partnership for the 2026 Johnstone’s Paint Masters.
