Svenska Spel has appointed Mårten Forste as its new Business Area Manager for Sport & Casino. He has extensive experience from senior positions in the gaming industry, including from LeoVegas and Expekt.com, and most recently from his own consulting business. Mårten Forste will be part of the Group Management and report directly to the CEO.
“I am very pleased to welcome Mårten to Svenska Spel. His solid industry experience combined with his expertise in leadership and digital business development will be very valuable to us. We are in a phase of growth and transformation, where Mårten will have a central role in developing our business in sports and casino games with strong brands such as Stryktipset and Oddset,” said Anna Johnson, President and CEO of Svenska Spel.
Mårten Forste most recently came from his own consulting business with a focus on strategic advice and business development in online gaming. His many years in the gaming industry include, among others, Chief Operations Officer at LeoVegas, as well as Country Manager and Field Marketing Manager at Expekt.com. He has also held senior positions in international tech and consumer companies, including Match Group. Mårten Forste also has many years of board experience, and has previously been a member and chairman of the board of LeoVegas and a member of the board of ATG.

Mårten Forste will take up his new position in February 2026. He succeeds Fredrik Wastenson, who after almost 13 years at Svenska Spel has moved on to a new leading role in the gaming industry. Until Mårten Forste takes up his position, Svenska Spel’s Product Manager for Sports and Casino Games, Jonas Nygren, is acting Business Area Manager for Sports & Casino.
