Saudi Arabian paytech Geidea names Abdulrahman Almutairi as new group CTO

 

Geidea, a prominent payment service provider headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has welcomed Abdulrahman Almutairi, former head of STC Pay, as its new Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This strategic appointment comes as Geidea continues its digital transformation journey, aiming to enhance its technology landscape.

Abdulrahman Almutairi brings with him over two decades of experience in both technology and financial services, positioning him perfectly to lead Geidea’s technological initiatives into the future. His wealth of expertise will play a crucial role in driving the company’s digital strategy forward.

Previously serving as the CTO for STC Pay, the mobile financial services arm of Saudi Telecom Company, Almutairi played a pivotal role in establishing modern enterprise architecture, focusing on channels, integration, core banking, and the development of over 40 digital platforms. He also co-led strategic initiatives to secure a digital banking license during his tenure.

Founded in 2008 by Abdullah Faisal Al-Othman, Geidea offers merchants a comprehensive platform for managing sales, inventory, and online orders. Additionally, the company provides a diverse array of payment services, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals, business management solutions, and various digital banking technologies.

With a strong presence across the GCC region, Geidea proudly serves over 150,000 merchants and facilitates more than 700,000 payment terminals.
