Motosumo’s global community unites for #TrainForWater to support Water.org transforming lives with safe water.

Motosumo, the interactive cycling platform that brings people together through fitness, announces #TrainForWater as the ninth edition of its Cycle For Change series. This campaign will run from March 17-23, 2025, culminating on World Water Day, March 22, and aims to raise awareness and funds to support Water.org, a global nonprofit organization working to provide access to safe water and sanitation for families in need. Cycle for Change exemplifies Motosumo’s commitment to sustainable fitness, and #TrainForWater specifically aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 6.

Today, 1 in 4 people worldwide, a staggering 2.2 billion individuals, still lack safely managed drinking water at home, and 3.5 billion people don’t have access to safely managed sanitation.

Kresten Juel Jensen, CEO of Motosumo, shared:

“With the #TrainForWater campaign, we’ve invited our global cycling community to help us make a positive contribution to yet an important cause. Every kilometer cycled via our digital platform helps Water.org create sustainable solutions that have already proven transformative – showing that positive change is possible when we move as one.”

Indoor cycling enthusiasts worldwide are invited to participate in this week-long challenge, cycling to raise awareness about the 2.2 billion people who currently lack access to safe water. By participating, the Motosumo community will be working together to support Water.org’s mission of bringing lasting access to safe water to families in need worldwide.

Water.org has reached more than 76 million people with safe water or sanitation.

Erin Prock, Marketing Manager from Water.org commented:

“We are thankful to Motosumo for supporting our vision of safe water for all and inspiring people to take action that will help empower families living in poverty with access to the safe water they need to survive and thrive.”

How the campaign works

#TrainForWater begins on Monday, March 17, and ends at midnight on Sunday, March 23. Motosumo users worldwide will cycle during live and on-demand classes to raise funds for Water.org.

For every 80 kilometers cycled, Motosumo will donate $1, with a total donation goal of $1,500. Participants can engage with special in-app features, including a special emoji symbolizing the campaign, and can track their progress alongside the global community in real time.

Kresten Juel Jensen, CEO of Motosumo, continued:

“At Motosumo, we use fitness to inspire meaningful change, this time taking collective action in a cause that affects everyone: clean water.”

“At the current pace, we need to work four times faster to achieve universal access to safely managed drinking water by 2030 – and that’s exactly the kind of challenge our community embraces,Kresten said.
