Voicemod, the world leader in real-time AI voice and soundboard transformation with more than 72 million downloads and millions of users, has launched a new voice creation tool to make it simple to craft high-quality voices without being an audio expert.
Voicelab 2.0 focuses on storytelling over technical controls and, instead of having to adjust sliders or understand audio configuration-specific terminology, allows users to create voices and bring their ideas to life by selecting from story-driven modules such as ‘Character’, ‘Device’ and ‘Environment’ on an easy-to-use interface.
The new Voicelab 2.0 product builds on the company’s previous Voicelab offering where users created their own voice changers through a suite of real-time editing tools using reverb, pitch shifting and distortion. But the new experience enables users without audio knowledge to easily create high quality voices. It lowers the barrier to entry while amplifying the fun of experimenting with sound.
It targets Gen Z and the new wave of creators shaping stories and online identity through sound and can be used when interacting on Xbox, Playstation, Discord, Roblox as well as Google Meet or Zoom.
Users can choose from existing characters, including both non-AI and AI-generated options, and the AI voices are built using models trained on ethically sourced datasets with full consent and proper licensing, including from professional voice actors who are paid fairly.
All the models are certified by Fairly Trained, reinforcing Voicemod’s commitment to transparency and consent in AI development. This stands in contrast to competitors that rely on scraped or IP-infringing voice data, a growing concern for creative industries facing widespread copyright abuse.
Jaime Bosch, co-founder and CEO of Voicemod, said:
“The way people express and identify themselves online is evolving and voice technology is a huge part of that.
“Voicelab 2.0 makes it easier than ever for people to explore their creativity, tell stories and have fun with sound.
“And we’re doing it with integrity by licensing responsibly, compensating artists and helping protect the creative industry from unethical AI practices.
“This is for everyone who’s ever had a voice in their head they wanted to bring to life.”
The new format encourages more user-generated content voices, giving creators an easier path to contribute original characters, reactions and sounds to the Voicemod community. It is especially designed for those who want to experiment, roleplay, stream or build shared lore through voice. For experienced creators, all advanced settings from the original Voicelab are still available and ready to use.
As well as having unrestricted use of the Voicelab, where they can create custom Voicelab Voices, modify their voice, and save those settings for future use, Pro users have full access to multiple soundboard creations and Voicemod’s complete voice roster, including any new voices that Voicemod develops. And since the latest version, all Pro users’ content is available in the cloud, ensuring convenient access and continuity.
Voicelab 2.0 reflects Voicemod’s mission to make sound a more expressive, personal and social part of how people connect and create online. From gaming sessions to content creation to chaotic group chats, it invites audio creators to explore their ideas and shape new identities through voice.
Voicelab 2.0 is available now in Voicemod’s desktop and mobile apps for Pro users.
