Following the recent news of Rockstar’s acquisition of Video Game Deluxe, Ahmed Al Sharif, Chief Technology Officer at Sandsoft, former Meta, EA, and PlayStation, says:
“Rockstar’s acquisition of Video Game Deluxe can signal that the studio plans on ramping up remasters and re-releases. Video Game Deluxe has been a long-term partner of Rockstar and no doubt has well-established processes and operational efficiencies in place – making it easier for them to act as a supporting studio. It’s no secret that Rockstar’s lineup is continually met with critical and commercial success, but the time and dollar production cost continues to grow. While GTA VI is the game everyone’s waiting for, this acquisition will likely see older Rockstar titles appear on new and future consoles.”
