ZKcandy Closes $4M Private Funding Round Backed by Wemix Pte. Ltd., Animoca Ventures, Spartan Group, and Other Investors

ZKcandy, the first gaming-focused Layer 2 chain powered by ZKsync, today announced that it has closed a $4 million private funding round. The round was completed by well-known investors such as Wemix Pte. Ltd., Animoca Ventures, Spartan Group, Perlone Capital, Presto Labs, Flowdesk, Prometheuz, Lecca Ventures, and Efficient Frontier. It also included participation from angel investors and early contributors from firms including Stacks, Analog, Mittaria, Xangle, and Trading Strategies.

This funding comes shortly after ZKcandy’s open-testnet phase, which saw more than 2.4 million wallets created in just two weeks. This early milestone shows that ZKcandy’s approach can reach a wide audience and help bring in major AAA brands. By making it easy for both players and developers to use blockchain, ZKcandy aims to grow a strong and lively ecosystem.

Uniquely positioned in the Web3 gaming world as the only Layer 2 chain with founding ties to a major game studio, the ZKcandy team has rich experience of developing gaming products. As such ZKcandy aims to help more high-quality game titles to complete development and a speedy market launch. ZKcandy currently has a pipeline of more than 25 game titles in various stages of going live, including a Tier-1 Hollywood IP licensed game title. 

ZKcandy will use the funds to build the first Telegram-based EVM gaming ecosystem, work with major IP holders to speed up adoption, develop AI agents for gaming, and prepare for the mainnet launch in the first half of 2025. The team plans to expand its network of partners, support more AAA games and IPs, and make the user experience even easier. These steps will help ZKcandy turn its early momentum into long-term success.
