Dungeon & Fighter falls out of top 3 on most played internet cafe games chart

Dungeon & Fighter, which has maintained its position as a leading PC game in China for over 16 years, dropped to #4 on the Shunwang internet cafe game chart in January 2024.

The top 2 games, League of Legends and Crossfire, remained unchanged while NetEase’s Naraka Bladepoint took the #3 position. Dungeon & Fighter has seen its revenue decline in the second half of 2023, with Nexon expecting a further decline in Q1 2024.

An unbalanced in-game economy and a significant duplication glitch has led to lower spending on the game.

The response from Tencent, the game operator, and Nexon was also seen as unsatisfactory, which led to long term players saying they would switch to another game. Nexon and Tencent recently received a license for DnF: Origin, a mobile game based on the IP.
