Bragg Gaming CEO Matevž Mazij to Resign from Board After AGM Vote

Bragg Gaming Group CEO Matevž Mazij has resigned from the company’s board after a majority of shareholders voted against his re-election at their AGM.

Mazij received 44.3% of votes to continue in his post, but 55.7% voted for him not to be re-elected.

In a statement bragg said Mazij has compiled with the company’s majority voting policy and offered his resignation from the company’s board of directors.

Mazij “will continue to serve as a director until the resignation offer is accepted and becomes effective, his successor is appointed or elected or until the date that is 90 days from today,” bragg said.

He was CEO of Oryx Gaming for over 10 years before moving to the wider bragg group, initially as a board member in February 2021. He became group CEO in August 2023.

Bragg goes all in on AI

The vote on Mazij’s future on bragg’s board comes amid his push towards making the company AI-first by 2027.

That vision led the supplier to commit in January to cutting over 10% of staff, saving €4.5m.

Mazij said the decision to lose jobs was also driven by “increasingly complex” regulatory compliance requirements, recent tax headwinds, emerging market opportunities, consolidation in the market and the company’s “increased focus on short-term profitability.”
