Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has closed two of its Macau satellite casinos (Rio Casino and President Casino).

According to an announcement by GEG, group employees in these two casinos will be transferred to other casinos under the concessionaire with “all terms of employment remaining the same”.

“They will also be provided with a series of vocational training to help them adapt to the new working environment,” the Group noted.

“GEG would like to thank the public, customers and people from all walks of life for their love and support of Rio Casino and President Casino over the years and will continue to contribute to the development of leisure tourism in Macau,” the gaming operator added.

The two casinos were part of GEG’s City Clubs, a collaboration initiated in 2004 with four city hotels.

Several satellite casinos were rumoured to be closed after new changes were announced as part of a future amendment to the current gaming law, with the closure of Rio and President the first to actually take place.
