Jan Řehola

Jan Řehola is the founder and director of the Institute for Gambling Regulation (IPRH), which is the largest professional association in this field in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He has more than fifteen years of experience in gambling regulation, both in the public and private sectors. He holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague on Financial aspects of Gambling Regulation.

Previously, he worked, among other things, at the Czech Ministry of Finance as Director of the Gambling Regulation Department. He was member of European Commission Expert Group on Online Gambling and represent Czech Republic in IAGR (International Association of Gaming Regulators) and GREF (Gaming Regulators European Forum).

Jan Řehola regularly lectures at international conferences and publishes in professional journals and periodicals. Within the IPRH, he is involved in the development of a national program for the prevention and reduction of gambling related harms (IRIS).

More about the Institute for Gambling Regulation (IFGR)

The Institute for Gambling Regulation is the largest national professional association in the field of gambling, representing 95% of the legal gambling market in the Czech Republic.

The Institute’s members include gambling operators, experts authorized by the Ministry of Finance for professional assessment and certification, hardware and software manufacturers, and partner associations.

The primary goal of the Institute’s activities is to work alongside public administration bodies in the field of gambling to achieve smart gambling regulation. Equally important is our ongoing effort to contribute to increasing social responsibility and reducing the risks associated with gambling.

Our aim is to create a platform for professional discussion to establish balanced gambling regulations in the Czech Republic.
