China’s tech firm Huawei hosts roundtable on cybersecurity in Dubai

 

Huawei, a leading technology company from China, convened a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity at the SAMENA Leaders’ Summit 2024, a prestigious annual event in the telecommunications industry. The summit took place in Dubai, bringing together prominent figures from telecom operators, regulatory bodies, and cybersecurity experts.

Themed “Building Telecom Cyber Resilience to Protect Business in the Digital Era,” the roundtable was organized in collaboration with the SAMENA Telecommunications Council and Saudi Telecom (STC). It provided a platform for telecom operators and decision-makers to delve into cybersecurity challenges and solutions.

Mohammed Alosaimi, Chief Security Officer at Huawei Saudi Arabia, reaffirmed Huawei’s dedication to strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure globally. He emphasized the company’s commitment to collaborating with carriers and partners to bolster digital infrastructure securely.

The discussion at the roundtable focused on the significance of cyber resilience for telecom operators, especially amidst the rapid advancements in technologies like 5G and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) networks integrated with cloud and AI capabilities. Speakers highlighted current challenges and proposed remedial actions to address them effectively.

The SAMENA Leaders’ Summit serves as an annual gathering for leaders in the telecommunications sector, including service providers, regulatory authorities, and policymakers. It provides a platform to tackle emerging challenges and foster collaboration to drive the sector’s development forward.
